"FULL LACE WIGS" - WE CAN FINALLY BREATHE!

Okay, so I've worn a wig once and found myself steaming underneath it. I endured the pain, but man I wish there was something light weight that I could rock when I don't feel like doing it.

Lo and behold the full lace wig! I've heard these bad boys allow you to breathe at their best are made of human hair lasting you years!

Here is a website of a sister who is doing her thing! She specializes in custom made wigs just for you: www.forgirlslikeus.com .

SWEAT AND PRESS DON'T MIX...

It's 100 degrees in NY today and I have completely sweated out my edges! However, thanks to my girl Annunciata at GiAmor's salon in Harlem, I still can rock it next week due to her patience and love with my tresses.

MY FIRST PRESS OF THE SUMMER! - WILL IT LAST?

HAPPY AND HEALTHY

Very little heat, small bantu knots, moisturizing creme to set.
This will last you 2-3 days.

TRUTH OR LYE?

I've been exploring the internet for long hair success stories lately and I found an amazing picture diary of a girl who went from bald to flowing natural hair down her back (I mean really long) in three years!!!...I'm a bit skeptical because in the pictures the lengths vary so much, but I want to give her the benefit of the doubt because 1) if her hair products work I will be the first to recommend them 2) she'a a Christian. I'm going to chek out her product soon and tell you how they work. In the meantime you can find her on YouTube and on her website: www.healthyhairjourney.com. But one caveat, her hair is permed....:-o! It was so pretty though, it might make you want to be lyed on.

TIGHTER WAVES

Here is a picture of me working at Hue-Man Bookstore in HARLEM. The curls are the result of small-medium bantus. Who knew the cam was on? LOL! For tighter waves use a leave-in conditioner, setting creme, or as a last resort - good 'ol grease!

MEDIUM PRESS ON NATURAL HAIR

I'm used to getting hair products for free or at a deep discount after working for some large cosmetic companies where it was my job to try out the product on my hair. So this makes it excruciating for me to fork out cash for more products, Despite the alluring the packaging, I really want my cabinet under the sink back. You know how it is, my fellow product/sample/collectors who can never throw anything away. Here is the result of product mixing (which they say you shouldn't do), and a medium press (lasts about a week).

NOT LIMITED TO LOCKS AND TWISTS

Why does it seem that whenever I read natural hair care magazines, blogs, etc. they always have pictures of locks and twists? That's cool, but I want us to progress to where we know what to do with our own hair without manipulating it. I manipulate my own natural hair to obtain a "natural" kinky look, but who's got the word on caring for it just as is?

Some of my Youtube sista's have the answers to these some of these questions. Check them out on my video bar!

SOFT WAVES ON NATURAL BLACK HAIR

This is a common look for me. The waves are a result of a simple process. Wash, Dry, Bantu knot. If you want longer curls, lightly run a pressing comb through the hair before twisting. NOT TOO HARD! You'll end up with a buzz cut in the front (like I've done twice in my life) or waves that drop faster than a bootie shake dancer.

BLACK NATURAL HAIR CARE, GROWTH, STYLES!

Have you ever wondered how to grow long natural African- American, Afro-Carribean, Afro-Latina hair? If so, this will be an awesome resource for you!

I've had long hair all my life. It's been much longer in my youth, but I still have maintained quite a mane without chemicals - EVER!. I have worn my hair in countless straight and curly, and just plain frizzy aka "nappy" styles.

I adore my hair (as does my husband). People are always asking me how did I come about with such a long mane au natural without breaking down and getting a perm out of fustration.

This my blog is my intent to show women everywhere how to do the same.

Yes my beloved sistah's - your hair can will must grow!

Stay tuned....
